Our Grand Finale

Here at Posh Parties we plan some very interesting events.  We plan weddings that are lavish, sophisticated, traditional and fresh.  We have amazing clients and we love every one of them.  The best part about our job is meeting so many people and adapting to each clients personalities - its a fun job and we always have something exciting going on!

Three months a ago, I got a call to interview to be the wedding planner for actress JoAnna Garcia and Yankee baseball player Nick Swisher.  As a die-hard Yankees fan, I was jumping for joy inside.  I went to the meeting and we hit it off!  Of course we have planned weddings and events before for professional athletes, local celebrities and socialites, but this one was different.  It's not often that a Hollywood couple gets married in Palm Beach....and I was the lucky one to have this amazing experience.

Funny enough, planning their wedding was just like planning everyone elses.  We triple checked the guests list, chose amazing invitations, selected music for the evening, and added personalized touches.  We dotted all of our i's and crossed all of our t's - multiple times.

We had our all-star team lined up - photographer Anthony Vazquez, cinematographer Francesco Spezia, music by Alan James of the Powerhouse Group, decor by Kim Votaw of the Breakers Design Studio and catering manager Kym Bichon of the Breakers.

The wedding week arrived and we delivered 200 gift bags to the hotel.  Thursday evening kicked-off the festivities with a Welcome Party.  Friday was the bridesmaid lunch and the rehearsal dinner under the stars.  Saturday was wedding day - the ceremony could not have been more beautiful and the reception was spectacular.  Guests were dancing the night away, having a blast.  Sunday, the weekend ended with a delicious brunch over looking the ocean.  The weekend could not have been more perfect - perfect weather and one flawless event after another for this perfect couple!

The bride looked amazing and you can see her wedding weekend wardrobe that was featured on instyle.com:

We couldn't have asked for a better event to end our year.  We are thankful for our success in 2010 and looking forward to an even bigger and better 2011!

Happy Holidays!!

Engage 10: The Breakers

I spent the early part of last week immersed in a wedding industry conference that left me motivated and inspired.  I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to be amongst the best of the best in the industry - from Mindy Weiss and David Beahm to Michelle Rago, Darcy Miller, Lara Casey, Abby Larson, Donna Newman, Bryan Rafanelli, Amy Atlas and so many more.  We were wowed by the delectable food presentations from the Breakers and even more amazed by the Design Studios visionary creations at every event.  Not one detail was left unnoticed.

What really came out of it for me was to keep doing what you are doing, hold your head up and keep pushing forward.  You can do anything you want to do if you put your mind to it and make it happen.  What a great way to kick off an extremely busy season.  My team and I are ready to embrace it!!

Here are some of the fabulous photos from the event.....I cannot wait to go to the next one.

We were so excited to open our box full of inspiration found in 2 albums from Smock Paper that came in the mail last week.  Their letterpress invitations for all occasions are on gorgeous heavy stock paper.  Things we love about them: They offer colored edging, gorgeous calligraphy typestyles and hip patterned envelope liners.  Check out some of the designs.....

From wedding and party invitations to moving announcements, personal and business stationery to birth announcements, sending s a Smock design in the mail is sure to make any recipient smile!!

Last Weekend of Summer...what are you going to do?

I can't believe September 1st has approached and it's Labor Day weekend...the last official weekend of summer.  What a great way reason to spend time on the beach, enjoy some great company, host a pool party or just relax in the great outdoors.

What are you going to do to make the most of this Labor Day weekend?

We love this simple, casual tablescape overlooking the ocean and the sunset.  Fully epitomizes summer's end.

Welcoming Your Guests

It's such a nice gesture to give your guests a nice surprise when they are traveling from out of town to your event.  Whether simple or elaborate, a welcome bag should always have a personal note from the hosts or honorees and an itinerary of the weekend festivities.

I just did these Palm Beach welcome bags for a bride & groom from New York City who were having their wedding in Palm Beach.

Some fun items to include in your gift bags:
water bottles - personalized
pretzels
honey roasted peanuts
candy
chocolate
granola bars
personalized mints
personalized hand sanitizer
mini champagne or wine
gourmet popcorn
personalized drink mix
something local

It's fun to include things that are your favorites to really let the guests get a glimpse of who you really are. Have fun with this - use creative containers (beach buckets, palm leaf totes, canvas totes, boxes) and fun foods and it will show your guests that you appreciate the distance they have traveled to celebrate with you!

Finally, A Break.

Today will be our final wedding for the season (our next event isn't until August 21st!).  It's going to be nice to have a few weeks to focus on our marketing plan and to network and build relationships with our wonderful referral sources.  We are also going to take the time to focus more on our blog by getting some posts in the can so we can update more frequently.  You will be seeing a lot more "real weddings" and interviews with industry insiders.  We are going to share some exciting entertaining tips and keep you up to date with the latest trends in party planning.  Let's see, we are also going to be making a trip to New York City to the gift show....so we will have a lot to report when we get back.  Thank you for following Posh Party Gal ~ looking forward to sharing everything we have in the works with you soon!!
